From dissertation partners to partners in life.

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”

“Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 KJV
A note from us

There is no one we would rather celebrate with than the people who have loved us into who we are. Thank you for being part of our story we can't wait to share this day with you.

With all our love, Vale & Tana

How we got here

Our story

Valentine and Tanaka in their college days, leaning in for a selfie
  1. 2022

    “Wapapi ne topic yako?”

It’s crazy to think that back then, a simple “wapapi ne topic yako?” started a conversation that slowly became something so special. What felt like an ordinary message turned into late-night talks, countless memories, and a connection I’ll always cherish. Funny how the smallest moments can lead to the most beautiful chapters.

  2. 2024

    Partners in crime

My college sweetheart was not only my person, but also my partner in crime when it came to the most random jokes. Somehow, our weird sense of humour just made perfect sense to each other — and honestly, that’s when I knew we were in trouble. So… who exactly gave us permission to be this ridiculous together?

  3. 2026

    “Ndaona madya rice”

And finally, the year “ndaona madya rice” became more than just a phrase. From the little moments, the laughter, and all the memories we created along the way, we somehow arrived at roora — when the joke became reality. As we celebrate this beautiful chapter, I also wish for you, family and friends, to attest to this journey of ours.

Gifts & Blessings

We are starting our first home together, and a gift in cash would help us build it more than anything we could choose from a shelf. If you would like to bless us that way, it would mean the world to us.

And if you cannot be with us on the day, EcoCash will bring your gift to us just the same.

Good questions

Can I bring a plus-one?

In the interest of keeping our celebration intimate and the dance floor manageable attendance is strictly invitation only. We kindly ask that no additional guests or plus-ones be brought along unless specifically included in your invitation.

Are children welcome?

We adore your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you a day to relax and celebrate with us.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony begins at half past nine. We'd love for you to be seated a little before, so you don't miss a single moment.

What if it rains?

December in Harare can be a little unpredictable, so we'll be keeping an eye on the skies for all of us. Bring a light wrap just in case and we'll let you know if anything changes.

When do I need to reply?

By the twenty-fifth of November, please. It helps us make sure there's a seat, a plate and a warm welcome waiting just for you.
